A month after Thee Oh Sees pre-emptively shut down UC Berkeley’s Sproul Plaza, SUPERB has announced another free afternoon concert, this time with Ty Segall joining Crystal Antlers at Sproul Plaza this Friday at 5pm. Here’s a slow-burning psych jam from our buds in Cool Ghouls, to appear on the band’s debut self-titled LP due out this summer. The Ghouls are on a couple of solid bills later this month - they play a 4/20 Save KUSF benefit at Benders (RSVP here) with Uzi Rash and later in the month at Sugar Mountain with Shannon and the Clams - RSVP for the Oakland show here.

By now we know that the Fresh & Only’s forthcoming record will be released on Mexican Summer (current and former label-mates include Part Time, The Mantles, and others). Here’s a glimpse of the new record in the form of an outtake — though the track will not appear on the new LP, we think it’s a pretty solid tune that has us incredibly psyched for the band’s follow-up to Play it Strange.
