mp3: Cocktails :: “Let it Come Down”

Very into the new Cocktails demo The Bedroom Sessions, which you can listen to now over on Soundcloud. Uplifting + throbbing, scuzzy jams that pick up where the now-defunct Bare Wires left off. Listen to the whole thing here. The next Cocktails show is slated for May 30th with fellow slop-poppers Kids on a Crime Spree at El Rio - RSVP for that show here.

Ty Segall playing free show Friday @ UC Berkeley

mp3 premiere: Swiftumz :: “Willy”

Here’s the extremely uplifting and heartfelt new single from Swiftumz, following up on his wonderfully understated debut album on Holy Mountain last year. Swiftumz plays in support of a fantastic bill at Verdi Club at the end of next month (also featuring LA-via-SF trio Wet Illustrated and The Mallard). RSVP for that show over here. Watch the video for “More Than Sleep” below:

mp3 premiere: Cool Ghouls :: “Ghost Song”

Here’s a slow-burning psych jam from our buds in Cool Ghouls, to appear on the band’s debut self-titled LP due out this summer. The Ghouls are on a couple of solid bills later this month - they play a 4/20 Save KUSF benefit at Benders (RSVP here) with Uzi Rash and later in the month at Sugar Mountain with Shannon and the Clams - RSVP for the Oakland show here.

[via SF Weekly]

“Bare Wires is over,” Melton says. “Some things aren’t made to go forever.”

mp3: The Fresh and Onlys :: “Do What I Came to Do”

By now we know that the Fresh & Only’s forthcoming record will be released on Mexican Summer (current and former label-mates include Part Time, The Mantles, and others). Here’s a glimpse of the new record in the form of an outtake — though the track will not appear on the new LP, we think it’s a pretty solid tune that has us incredibly psyched for the band’s follow-up to Play it Strange.
